Chartered Institute of Marketing – Professional Diploma (new
syllabus)
Distance Learning Study Method
The Professional Diploma in Marketing is aimed at marketers who are
concerned with managing the marketing process at operational level,
those who are looking to build on the knowledge gained at
Professional Certificate level, or those who are aiming to gain a
marketing management role in the future.
Typical profiles of NEW Diploma students: operational marketers,
departmental managers, functional managers, product/brand managers,
account managers, agency managers, marketing executives, business
development managers.

This course is a Level 6 qualification/equivalent to final year on
an Honours Degree.
You will gain the marketing skills you need to maximize on
opportunities for your company, achieve an internationally
recognised transferable qualification and become and Associate
Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM).

All our courses run over a calendar year. This helps students balance the demands of home, work & study and leads to higher pass rates.
Our Distance Learning Professional Diploma courses run from:
- September 2009 to August 2010
- January 2010 to December 2010
Delivery Method
Our approach is a blended learning package of e-lessons supplemented
using tutorials and email feedback by experienced CIM lecturers.
Where appropriate assignment briefings are made using web
meetings and conference calls.
The e-lessons and other study resources are available from Intensive
Marketing’s Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle.
Moodle
Moodle enables students to access study materials over the Internet.
Specific to each unit, a typical Moodle group includes
e-lessons, directed reading materials, additional learning
resources, case examples, relevant web links and forums.
Entry Requirements
You must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Any Bachelor or Masters degree where a third of the credits come
from marketing modules
- CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing/CIM Certificate in
Marketing Management/CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications
- Experience in a marketing management role that has provided
knowledge and competence equivalent to the learning outcomes of the
Professional Certificate in Marketing
Course Assessment
This course is continually assessed via 3 unit assignments and one
exam. There are three written assignments per unit.
Course Fees (2009)
For courses starting from September 2009 onwards:
• £300 + VAT per module
• £995 + VAT for Diploma course (book all 4 modules and save £205)
There are additional costs paid directly to the CIM for Annual membership
and assignment submissions. You will also need to purchase CIM
recommended text books.
